about us

We are a group of local girls in the East Boston ​community who love to read. The purpose of ​Eastie Book Babes (EBB) is to connect fellow ​Eastie Gals and build community with our ​meetings and special events.

Formal meetings are held monthly. Members ​will read the same book over the same period. ​We’ll then meet up to discuss the book and ​exchange views.

Join us and discover a wide variety of new ​books, new authors, and new friends.

Here are some action items to help get you started with #EastieBookBabes:

Meeting

SCHEDULE

We meet monthly at 7 PM on either ​Wednesday or Thursday.

The venue rotates between local ​businesses, ​members' homes, and ​community spaces within ​the area.

Become a host

Each month will be lead by a new host. As ​we launch the group, the first (4) hosts ​will be members of the admin team:

Details on how to volunteer to be a future ​host will be available shortly.

Kick Off

• First 30 minutes for food, wine and ​catching-up with friends

Breakdown

• 60+ minutes for a structured ​discussion on this month’s book
  

Wrap Up

• Final 30 minutes for more informal ​discussion and socializing
  
• Announce next month’s book

responsibilities

Based on the venue, there may be a ​capacity threshold. Be sure to read ​each event description on BookClub. ​Hence, we’re asking participants to be ​mindful of attending. If you are no ​longer able to attend, simply advise in ​advance / update your attendance ​status so another member can attend ​in your place. Members are asked to:

• Read the selected book
  
• Bring a bottle of wine
  
• Bring an appetizer or dessert *
  
• Participate in an authentic and ​respectful manner
  

* A sign up form will be sent to members who RSVP — yes, ​only. This will help plan serving options and work around ​any potential allergies.
